HEAD PEOPLE IN CHARGE at YouthBuild Rockford claim there isnt any funds for students IDA money. HOW CAN THAT BE WHEN governmental funds given to a company for student dispursement. No students from the 2010-2011 cycle have recieved theirs yet after completion of graduation as well as some students from previous cycles severals years ago. This money is for the individuals personal use as far as rent, bills, fines, car note and other living expenses that a person would incurr over month to month living habits. Very few students were notified about a so-called "mandatory meeting" for their IDA last week August 9th, 2011. It was then stated by an "unknown source" that any students that didnt attend this meeting would no longer be eligible to recieve their IDA if and whenever it becomes available. I was not notified of this meeting or any meeting about our IDA as well as numerous amounts of students from the 2010-2011 YouthBuild cycle. Soo... How can there not be any current funds and the students have not put in a request for their money? There has been several times throughout the cycle year that students were deprived of their living allowance (stipend) due to Carpenter's Union lawsuits within the company. They were then forced to continue to attend YouthBuild without pay and several students were late on bills as well as evicted out of their homes.
AS A LAST RESORT I ASK STUDENTS TO COME TOGETHER AND SIGN OFF ON THIS PETITION SO THAT WE CAN GET WHAT WE RIGHTLFULLY DESERVE.
